BLAH!!!!!

I just realized that I will need 4 yes 4 DIFFERENT dresses to wear this summer. UGH!!! And if you’ve been here long enough you’ll know that I HATE wearing dresses/ dressing up. BLAH! 4 weddings amongst the SAME group of friends. SUCKS man!!!! Luckily for us, the big mister is providing his services free of charge to 3 of the 4 couples, so that means I don’t have to worry about gifts, but I will pretty much be dateless for those weddings. Ah Poo! But then it beats sitting next to the mister and him commenting on the person behind the music. Been there, done that, and believe me he can DEFINITELY be critital, but you know what… so can I? it’s bad and I blame him for making me have such a critical ear sometimes . So 1 in June, 2 in July, and 1 in August. It’s going to be a busy BUSY summer… mind you I’ve got a HUGE birthday bash I’m supposed to be planning and throwing in there amongst the weddings… but nothing has been done yet. Somebody light a fire under me… PLEASE

Sick and tired

Last night was rough. Poor lil thing couldn’t breath through that lil nose of hers , I hate that she’s so helpless and that I can’t really help her except to hold her and feed her and console her. She got up at 4AM and would NOT go back down. I tried everything and nothing worked, I was half asleep doing all this and felt the only thing I could do was bring her into the living room, turn on the telly, and hold her. She finally fell asleep at 530ish. Lil man soon came in to change the channel to cartoons at 6AM. Had enough of his disturbances and headed back to the bedroom at 630AM. She felt all the movement and woke up *sigh*. So essentially I’ve been up since then. Which is normal for me, but having to wake numerous times during the night and early morning don’t help.

So tonight the coll mist humidifier is on. The pedia care plug in is plugged in. She had a vapor bath. The Baby Vicks has been applied. Here’s hoping for a better night tonight.

The only thing is she has no appetite, probably b/c she can’t breath. And whatever she does seem to be able to eat, she can’t seem to keep down for very long.

I HATE when she’s sick!!! I hate that she hurts. I hate that I can’t really help her !

It pains me

It pains me to see babygirl like this. She can’t breath b/c her nose is all stuffie and she’s got a cough and she has no appetite other than what I can give her from myself. Which in turn makes me feel like she’s just using me to pacify herself, but if it helps her, it helps her right? She’s still a trooper though, and other than her hoarse breathing you wouldn’t really tell she’s sick!

The nice thing is we got to sleep in. She just got up and it’s a wee past 9AM. The sucky thing is that my mom called at 8ish and was asking for something, which caused me to wake, but as long as N is getting her sleep, no biggie. She doesn’t get as much sleep when we’re home compared to if we were out and about.

In other news, J has already finished 2 of the chapter books we bought on Monday . He was asking for another this morning but I was too out of it to get it for him. His love of books comes from his daddy. Not to say that I don’t like them, I do…just not as much as S. I swear I haven’t read a book since over a year ago. My retention just isn’t there anymore. I’ve been thumbing through various magazines every now and then, and that’s the extent of my reading.

Invasion

Some how we have been invaded. Yes the house is yet again under the yuckies . When I said the big mister wasn’t feeling well, I was talking about his back, but guess what? Now he and I both have stuffy noses. I’ve got a bit of a cough and I’ve been nursing a sore throat for the past few days. Now guess who has had icky boogery sneezies? The lil miss… so only time will tell when J will get it and the house will just be a complete mess of germs. Not fun.

Could that have been why she kept getting up nearly every hour last night? UGH. Not fun. I took J to school today and I didn’t even bother to shower . That’s a first. I just wanted to come back home and crawl back in bed, but by the time I got home the lil was already WIDE awake and a clapping mess. So I sat her on the toilet so she can do her doo. She’s in the saucer right now watching Mr Noodle and I’m posting on the couch. She won’t last long though and I will have to feed her breakfast and then play with her. That’s the crappy thing when I get sick, I don’t a break. But isn’t that like in everyone else’s home? The mommy never gets a break to be sick. POO!

In other news… these layout problems are driving me bananas !! I didn’t do anything to it and all of a sudden everything is NOT as it should be. So i changed the layout, to another one of the free ones and in Safari the changes are not being seen. They’re being seen in Firefox but there’s some mumbo jumbo jargon up at the top that I have no clue what it means. SUCKS. It looks lovely in Firefox, but I use Safari to do my browsing and seeing it all messed up is not helping my mood. Grrrr !!!!!

Field Trip Monday

Lil man had a field trip today and b/c the big mister hasn’t been feeling well, I went in his place while he stayed home with the wee one. It was a quick field trip anyhow. Last week there was supposed to be a Sch.olastic Book Fair at the school, but there was a problem with that so instead the students had field trips to the local Bor.ders. Good thing for the 25% Educator’s discount. Shoot… I need to get in on that action. I had J’s teacher ride with us as well as 2 of J’s classmates and I asked her how I could get in on that action. I either need to show my school ID, or an old paystub. WOO HOO .

Lil man got a couple books and I got the lil miss some basket stuffers . Ya know, since she can’t eat candy and all I figured books and a stuffie should go well. Lil man I’m thinking candy and a DVD, and possibly a stuffie too.

We beat the rain before it began to fall.

I’m such a doof, I cleared the cache on my Safari and all my passwords and stored things are gonzo, I suck though and forget my logins and crapola li’dat

Aloha Friday!!!!

I just got off work today. I worked a longer shift, a 4 hour one. I feel so nekkid right now, b/c I have none of the keiki with me. J is at school and lil miss is with my ‘rents. I figured it would just be better to wait it out til J gets off and then just head over there instead of backtrekking.

‘Tis raining out there again. Not too hard right now, which is nice.

Not too busy of a weekend, which is a nice change. Just a first birthday party in the afternoon tomorrow. I’ve got a couple Netflix movies that I need to catch up on.

This weather is making me want to take a nap. But I’ve only got an hour left to myself, so I suppose I should use it wisely, huh?

Boo-fay

Had lunch at the newly opened buffet joint just a hop, skip, and a jump down the street. And it was quite tasty, I think I quite like it better than the other boo-fay, ya know Toe-die . My parents were quite impressed with this boo-fay than the other. And I ran into another lil girl with N’s name . Funny her mom calls her by the beginning part of her name, just like we do, as opposed the end part of her name, like most people think we might call her. She was yelling at her while in line b/c the lil girl was being just the tiniest bit mischievous.

Lil miss also took some Easter photos. Oh to die for!!! So cute!!! I don’t get them back until April 4th… ancy. Lil miss took them solo though, so that means I’ve gotta take the kids to take their easter photos together.

Big mister is bringing me home a surprise in a little bit. But then again, it’s not really a surprise b/c he called to tell me about it. Which he shouldn’t have. It would have been nicer to be surprised, huh? Oh well… I’m happy nonetheless.

Rain, wind, cold, and lightening

Those can best describe what is going on outside at the moment. But despite that we still managed to get the lil miss her “big girl chair”. Yes, yes we finally got her a new carseat, gone will be the days of taking her and the infant chair out . I’m quite sad over that fact though, b/c that means I will be waking a sleeping baby. She does so well in the carseat and sleeps 95% of the time we’re travelling. After we ventured to TRU, we had lunch at Armadillo Willy’s. Now I feel like I want to take a nap and curl up in the blankies. Lil miss is waking from her slumber *sigh* so no nap for me and lil man needs to be picked up soon anyhow. S is heading over to his grandmother’s house again and then we’ve got karate tonight. The neverending cycle.

Busy weekend is done, which is nice. Only one birthday party this weekend. I’ve already purchased the gift too, so that’s nice to not have to worry about that. Lil miss has a photo shoot on Thursday though and I still have NO Easter outfit for it. So I’m on the lookout at the moment for something.

Aloha Friday!!!!

and a Happy St. Patty’s Day to y’all!!!!

The usual early start to the day and this time a late ending for the keiki. It’s no wonder they’re both snoring away!!!

Corned beef and cabbage was eaten yesterday in accordance with a Lenten Friday obligation b/c apparently no lift on the holiday was made for SF Catholics, that’s what my mom said anyhow. HA… yeah she’s HELLA religious l ike that. BLAH!

Hung out with Tootles and Mama Toots forevers it seems today . But we had good fun, good laughs, good talks, and good shopping . First stop was the Outrageous Outgrowns thing in San Jose. It’s pretty much like a Crai.gslist kinda thing in one place, mostly used items with a few brand new things in there too. What did I find? I got the lil miss 4 pairs of nice thick tights for $3.50, 10 paperback books in gently used condition for $5, 3 HelloKitty HappyMeal toys (2 of which I already own but will now give to the lil miss) for $1.50, and a cute Gymbo 2 piece outfit for $3.50. YAY!!!! Then from there we went to visit Mama Baby. Then a stop for lunch at Fre.sh Ch.oice. Salad YUMMY. Then a stop at BRU and TRU and Mervyn’s. I am in the search for an Easter outfit for the lil miss, and I can’t seem to find something I like *sigh*. We picked up the lil man and headed back to Casa de Toots.

And then… everyone came by!!!! More good fun! Mama Baby showed up with Baby Dimples. Then Auntie Cerrito and Uncle Chinese showed up. And then Mama GhettoSway and Baby BrightEyes joined in on the fun. It was a full house. And then Papa Toots finally came home to find his house full and bustling. We ordered Chinese food, and the Lenten obligation was ignored by all. HA. Papa PT showed up too. Lil miss fought me on every chance. I knew she was tired. But she insisted on eating her egg drop soup with chicken and corn and I guess I wasn’t moving fast enough for her. She wore her white track suit and managed to NOT get it dirty, but her St Patty’s shirt had stuff all over it

Busy, busy weekend is upon us. We’ve got 2 parties to attend and then also a dinner at my ‘rents as well as a day visit to S’s grandma’s b/c his mom is in town. Lil man also needs to finish his young author’s project.

Corned beef

And I’m not talking about the canned kind either. So St Patty’s Day is soon upon us, as I keep saying, and as tradition should have it corned beef and cabbage should be the main fare. In my house growing up, that’s what it was, mind you we are NOT a pinch of Irish. I didn’t care for it too much, it was just kinda whatevers. You would think for the big mister it would be a big thing, being that his grandfather is an Irishman with a Mc kinda last name. He said NOPE.

So I bought a small brisket in the hopes of throwing it in the crock pot. Found a recipe and I just need to grab a few more ingredients to make this happen, tomorrow probably as the crock hasn’t even been started. I’m pretty excited about it. Here’s the recipe I found…

Crock Pot Corned Beef

INGREDIENTS:

1 corned beef brisket, about 4 pounds

4 cups apple juice

1 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon prepared mustard

6 to 8 small to medium red potatoes, cut in half or quarters

2 to 3 medium carrots, pared and cut into chunks

1 large onion, peeled and cut into eighths

1/2 head cabbage, cut into chunks

PREPARATION:
Place all ingredients in a large slow cooker (cut meat in half if necessary). Stir gently to mix. Cook on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours or on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. Remove meat and vegetables and some of the liquid. Slice along the grain and serve with vegetables.

I’ve never tried this recipe but the fact that it’s cooked with apple juice and brown sugar just sounds YUMMY to me.

Muuuuuunday

Hello Monday. Big Mister is on his business trip in La La land. Just picked up the lil man from school and he just about finished his homework. Lil miss is getting some exer.saucer time. And I’m just loafiing.

Mama Toots called this morning and asked if we wanted to hang out. She was going to take lil Toots to take his St Patty’s Day photos, and so I decided N would take hers too , and just count those for her 8 months, seeing as how that’s on Wednesday. I have 2 photos of her that need to be scanned and uploaded. They really show her personality as of late . Tried to do an exchange but couldn’t find a size and she did some exchanging and returning as well.

I’ve got a few more minutes before we head to karate. I’m feeling rather tired already though *sigh* Hope your Monday is going well.

Boring Sundays

Didn’t do much today. Went to see an open house across the street. The one that we saw a couple months ago was more impressive. I’m taking it’s sold though b/c the sign on the lawn is gone. It’s nice to see how other people’s homes are especially in this area. So far I’ve seen the insides off 5 other homes on this block.

Me and the lil miss went to Cos.tco and got some chickens, tp, cheese, and diapies . I made chicken enchiladas for dinner too. YUM. Big mister leaves on another business trip in the morning tomorrow, just to LA, and just overnight.

Friday is St. Patty’s and my keiki have their green outfits to represent their lil 1/8th Irish in them .

Grrr… the lil monster is awake. I thought she was out for the time being. Must have just been a wee lil nap.

Intentions were there but never happened.

I had all kinds of intentions of taking photos at the luau yesterday, but the camera NEVER left the bag. Whoopsie !!!

I signed up to help set up and decorate. As soon as we got there, that is exactly what happened. Good thing I had the baby strapped in the stroller, she’s such a good girl . She sat and watched everything and everyone go by for over an hour and didn’t even make one complaint. I asked J to keep an eye on her, but that never happened, he was too busy hanging with his friends.

By the time the luau started, there was NO way she was going to allow me to leave her in the stroller. So my hands weren’t free to take pictures. Oh well. It was fun though, some of the talent show was a riot, while other things we could have done without. Mean I know . But if you were sitting there for over an hour watching some of the stuff with a wiggling, NOISY baby you would have preferred to opt out of some of the performances.

The weather has been crazy out this way. Snow in parts of San Francisco!!! And not even at high elevations either. CRRRRRRRAZY. I was watching the news last night and the weatherman reported hail the size of M&Ms and people “snow” sledding in the streets.

Some friends want to “borrow” J for a video shoot for their wedding. So I think that’s what we’re doing today. Other than that lil man needs to write his book for his young author’s project. Oh and I think we might watch Walk the Line. Happy Saturday.

Today is a Friday during Lent. I would love a plate of this right about now. It’s delicious! Salt Baked Squids from Ha.ppy Pala.ce in the city. Too bad we already have plans for the meal this evening. Lil man and I fight over the tentacles, ever since he was little we’ve dubbed them “spiders”. Well b/c they kinda look like them at times. I could eat a whole plate all to myself *oink oink*

Aloha Friday!!!!

We’re in for the time being. It’s cold outside, it HAS been for the past few days. I even cranked up the heater this morning while getting the kids ready, I just had to. The rain comes and goes as it pleases. Strange we’ll have the daytime with no rain but wind and cold and the evening is rain. Good thing for me, I don’ t need to be out at night much.

Except for tonight, lil man’s school is having a fundraiser/ talent show/ luau/ spaghetti feed. Hopefully it’s worth the $18 I dropped down for tickets. But I’m sure it won’t matter to J, as long as he can spend every waking moment with his friends, he doesn’t care. The skies are grey out there right now and I’m hoping the rain doesn’t happen tonight, but yeah… hopeful is all I can be.

I was thinking of taking her to the “gym” today. For her! But I think with all the running about I’ll be doing later, I’ll save it for another day. We went to “play group” the other day with Auntie M and baby O. It was kinda neat. The toys were all so neat. Things I would love for her to have at home, but why… when she can go and see the other kids and play with the toys there. Also less things for me to clean up.

I also got her a ton of new clothes, and replenished her wardrobe. I just couldn’t resist with such cheap prices. I’ll have to take pictures and post them to Flickr.

She’s in the pack n play right now and she is NOT a happy camper. I need to teach her to entertain herself though and not pick her up the instant she cries. She is probably tired though. I’ll let it go a lil while longer and listen to the wailing.

No real plans this weekend. SO.PRANOS!!!!!! Finally!!!! We were supposed to have a So.pr.anos party here at the house but the big mister has a gig that night. We’ve got east coast feed, which means it comes on at 6 here, but I don’t want to have to kick people out once it’s over. I told J that it was coming on on Sunday, and he said… “Okay, I’ll be in my room for that hour.” Such a smartie.

Rainy Days and Sunshine

Mother nature can’t seem to make up her mind. One minute the sun is shining through and the next minute the rain is pounding the pavement. It’s not raining now, but it’s hard to determine what to do. Take for example, today I took my mom to her doctor’s appt and down the street is the park that I used to take J to when my dad had his appts. I thought for a second to bring the lil miss (and the cart/swing cover too) and actually get her in a park swing for the 1st time in her life. Yeah that didn’ t happen b/c my mom had her in the stroller as I drove around looking for parking. The first parking spot ended up being in street cleaning zone. Fooey. So I met up with them in the doc’s office and low and behold the rain started to pour. And pour. And by the time my mom was done with her appt the skies were clear. So good thing we weren’t stuck in the downpour is what I’m trying to get at.

The March calendar is filling up and quickly. It’s crazy! Which reminds me, I need to change the calendar on the right before I forget something. Sooner than I know it, it’ll be summer again and i’ve got a super duper important birthday to be planning. GAH!!! I should already be on it. Ask me if I am? HA… I’ve thought of things but nothing set in stone. *sigh*

Everything turned out ALRIGHT

The weekend is coming to a close. One child is down and the other is stirring in his bed, complaining that it’s too hot. I don’t see why as I turned off the heater already. I can’t sleep with the heater on. The rain is pitter pattering with vengeance it seems out there. Maybe the storm that they kept talking about is finally here???

So the plans that were in talks for the past few days, came to life yesterday as we headed down the 101 S towards Monterey . A late anniversary celebration, at MY request. He actually wanted to venture to the snow but I wasn’t up to it, I also had been wanting to go back to the Aquarium for over a year anyhow! The weather turned out perfect, bug mister thought it a bit cold, but I was fine. We got there a little past 10:30AM and walked around and looked and oohed and ahhed for a good hour and a half, then the tummies were rumbling , so we headed to Bu.bba Gum.p’s for lunch. I know there are many other places out on Cannery Row that are yummier, but it’s a bit of a tradition, and hey we’re looking at convenience anyhow. So lunch was filling there. We waddled back to finish up at the aqu.arium and see the jellies. I can stand there for days watching those things (pictures soon in Fli.ckr).

Then we headed towards home but with a stop at the Gil.roy Outlets. I was supposed to be adding or replenishing items to my wardrobe but came up empty handed. I was looking more for the kids anyhow, riiiiiiiight!!! However I did get myself 3 things at San,rio b/c EVERYTHING in the store was 50% off. Score! I replaced my hula HK that baby N ate off my camera bag, a strawberry HK coin purse, and a Chibi photo thinger. all for under $8!!!! Then off to KB we went in search of a baby princess. Didn’t find those, but I did find a Li.ttle Pe.ople Airplane with the cutest characters inside!!!! And lil man got a Tee.n Tita.n thing to add to his collection. At Chil.dren’s Pl.ace I found lil miss a pair of pants for $3.99 and also a sweatshirt for $3.99. I found some cute shoes at Et.nies that I liked but they didn’t have my size . And then at Os.h K.osh I found some cute springy/summery clothes for babyN but didn’t get ‘em b/c I didn’t think they were cheap enough. heh. Big mister got 2 shirts and a zip up at Tim.berland and we all got some jelly beans at Je.lly Be.lly. Big mister was disappointed that I didn’t get anything. It’s okay though *shrugs shoulders*

We headed home and watched Sav.ing F.ace. Yeah I finally got to watch it. HAWT CHICKS!!!! Cute/ okay movie 3 1/2-4 stars.

Then today we met up with some friends and took the keiki to see Di.sney on Ice’s Fin.ding N.emo. Oh that was the cutest thing ever. I always enjoy those. And we got hooked up on the tickets too. All thanks to J’s slipup . We paid $10 each for $50 seats. WAHOO.

So yeah all in all the weekend turned out okay. YAY!

Today is Friday

It’s only a little past 10:30AM and I am HOME. I’m sad to be home , b/c that means I’m not earning some $$$ but at the same time, I’m happy to be home b/c I got to feed the baby leisurely this morning and enjoy some time spent with her. I transformed her kick and crawl thing into the crawl through. I nursed her and put her down to nap. I folded the clothes that I got caught up on and I started her laundry too.

I also stopped at Al.ber.tson’s after I dropped off J at school. Big 50 cent and $1 sales going on right now. Bar.rilla pasta 50 cents. Hunts spaghetti sauce 50 cents. Tuna 50 cents. Dan.imals $1. Yogurt 50 cents. Breakfast sausage $1… and so much more. On sale until Tuesday!!! I could only find 1 package of Dan.imals so I’m on a quest to find more.

I’ve been trying to have her be in the pack and play more often, just so she gets used to it. The remainder of the house has NOT been babyproofed. There are small toys everywhere, even lil bits of paper that she manages to find and get into her mouth. So she napped there , successfully even. She’s up now and playing in there, kinda nice that she’s not wailing. And there’s enough toys to keep her entertained for even just a few moments. I also hope that she learns to pull herself up in there. Let’s hope it works.

There are supposed big plans for the weekend, but they might fall through . Not fair! How about you? Do you have any plans?
