So yesterday we had a “date” of sorts. The big mister was gifted with a GC for Houston’s in the city and he said we could go I just needed to find a sitter. No Prob! We dropped the keiki off at my ‘rents and headed into the city for a late lunch early dinner. Not pictured is the “Flying Chicken Platter”. The big mister frequents Houston’s quite often, probably once a week for work. I was so indecisive about what I wanted to eat. I went on Yelp and read so many different raves about what to eat. The mister swayed me away from the Prime Rib, even though that’s what I had my eye on. The “booths” at this place prevent you from seeing what everyone else is eating, that’s how I normally do my basis, heh. So then I was debating between the Hawaiian rib eye and the Cedar Plank Salmon. As you can see, I had the rib eye and it was delicious! Big mister had the Knife and Fork BBQ Ribs.
It was nice to be out with just the big mister, but again it felt weird not having the keiki with us.
I’ve been having a mean craving for dim sum lately, and it always happens to be on the days that my DIm Sum spot is not open, so today after lil missy’s WBC, I stopped for some Dim Sum.
I love that it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump from the house. It’s also fairly cheap, and not to mention YUMMAY. The chicken bao are 60 cents each, the fried chicken dumpling are 50 cents each, the shrimp and chive dumplings are 3/ $1.65, and the pork siu mai are 3/$1.50. That’s my normal order there. I also like their curry puffs (2/$1.30) and their won ton noodle soup ($3.25) isn’t bad either.
Before getting the dim sum though I went into the Asian supermarket in search of my curry sauce. I normally use the S&B brand in the box, but today I decided to try…
The NOH brand Hawaiian Style Curry. Can’t hurt right. My beef chunks are on their second boil now and I think I’ll boil for another hour or so.
I spotted some snackies while I was at the Asian market too…
Green Tea and Melon flavored POCKY!!!! Talk about gourmet huh? Me and the lil miss have already sampled the Melon and I would definitely buy it again, a box is 99 cents. The Green Tea, I read about on another local bloggers site, one whom we have mutual friends in common. According to the link she provided from Ama.zon, the green tea is supposely in limited quantity. Well NOT at the location I went to! It is a bit pricier at $1.59 a box. I’ll let you know how it goes once I crack it open.
And finally some snackies for the lil man and lil miss to share…
My first time seeing the double cream.
So are you hungry now???
