So I saw my first crush today while in passing. Funny huh? I don’t get the flutters like I used to, but man this boy used to get my heart all a flutter and the stomach a turnin
.
I’ve known him since I was 6. He was friends with my cousin. They were in the same class, a grade older than me. We would all walk to and from school together. of course I was only 6. What did I know about boys then, or care for them? HA! My cousin left the school and I went on with my life. At this school, people in the 8 grades normally didn’t intermingle. It was just weird like that, unless it was afterschool and you were walking home with your neighbors and such. That’s what I did, with the T sisters, who later I would carpool with in college. That was some weird stuff.
Okay so back to my reminiscing… yeah for some reason in 6th grade or so a “friendship” of sorts was rekindled. Heh, where the 4 years in between went, I don’t know? Soon I found myself walking home with him again. He moved across the street from my grandparents. We would talk about nonsense and every now and then someone else would join us in the walks. I would tell my dad not to pick me up just so I could walk with him. On his practice days it was so lonely.
My school was NOT big so everyone knew everyone’s business. He eventually found out that I liked him. School girl crush at a Cath.olic school HA! Words were whispered here and there. The inevitable “Do you like her too?” was asked… and my heart was all a flutter to hear that he said “Yes!” and then soon to be shot down by other girls in his class that were jealous, “He doesn’t really like you he was just saying that to be nice.” Well alrighty then. Nothing ever came of it. He graduated and left. A different crush (the first boy to break my heart) ensued… but that’s a whole ‘nother story.
I saw him, crush #1, again in high school. He acted as if he never knew me. How heartbreaking
. Oh well no big loss. I ended up being a lot taller than him. Heh. He’s still got that babyface that I thought was so cute. But unfortunately he’s still got those big old bucky teeth too. Braces just didn’t do anything for him.
It’s funny the big mister would have run ins with him every now and then at the clubs. Oh what a small world we live in, huh? Oh well… it’s just funny is all.
