Shmall kine update

July 31, 2006 – 11:46 pm

The show went well :D . My son is a P.I.M.P. He is the only male dancer in the whole halau! The lights went out on him during his solo perfomance  , but he knew to keep on going! He looked like a deer caught in the headlights for the first dance. Smiled all the way through the 2nd dance, and P.I.M.Ped his way through his Tahitian SOLO!!! The photos are still sitting in the camera though. We gifted him with a Bui.ld a Be.ar b/c I knew he wouldn’t care much for flowers. Big hit with him. Do I know my boy? Or do I know my boy? They were selling leis at the Ho’ike and my mom bought him one. J wore it for awhile to humor her and then it became mine. All mine :D .

lei

An orchid and tuberose lei. YUM. The tuberuse is one of my most favorite smells. EVARRRRRR!!! It’s actually draped on my night stand lamp right now and the smell is just delicious.

In other news, been busy with party things. Finally settled on a cake topper for the lil man’s cake and I am still looking around for the cake topper for the lil missy’s cake. Reserved the jumper for the park. And got the playlist selected for the CD favors. Working on some art and then it’s up to the mister to get the CDs done. The kiddie favor are done. All I need to do is get the food all ordered and the big Cos.tco run, and still find that damned cake topper. Lots and lots to do still. UGH.

Early night

July 29, 2006 – 9:02 am

Yeah fell asleep before 10PM and I didn’t even get a chance to crack open the laptop like I had hoped. I was helping the lil miss to fall asleep with the lights off, so I pretended to be asleep in the hope that her seeing me with my eyes closed would just make her want to sleep too. FAT CHANCE. It was one of THOSE kinda nights where I swear she was up every other hour. But yeah, I still managed to fall asleep before 10 *tsk, tsk*. And even after the waking moments I could NOT for the life of me muster up the strength to just turn over and crack open the laptop, although I really wanted to. I guess my late nights are catching up to.

So in a few hours, starts the chaos. The lil mister and I will be travelling across the bridge for a dress rehearsal and the lilmiss and bigmister will be spending the day together. He’s supposed to venture to the mall with her. That should be something huh? I would love to see him pushing that stroller around by his lonesome, let alone with her by his lonesome. They get their alone moments, but never really in public

Then tomorrow is the big show. I’m excited but I feel like I won’t really be able to watch the show as the lilman needs assistance with his wardrobe changes, I sooooooo hope I don’t become one of those stage moms. Heh.

And Monday my stress levels will go up as I will be running around here and there in prep for the party. *Reminder to self, must pick up CD. So I’ll be around, here and there. No promises though.

Lazing the morning away

July 27, 2006 – 11:16 am

It’s a nothing kinda morning. Normally we’re out at the Farmer’s Market with my mom, but she went with my aunt. So it’s been a lot of S.prout for the lil miss and I’ve been uploading to Ofoto, kodakgallery.com. I’m loading my faves of the lilmissy’s 1st year so that I might make a memory book or something. I’m soooooooooo bad about printing them out and the poor thing has nothing but studio photos as hard copies. Whereas the lil man has about 4 albums full of photos from his first year alone. That’s the negative side of digital *tsk, tsk*. So I’m on month 6 right now. I’ve been doing this since last night. Heh.

Her favorite show is on right now, Tele.tub.bies. I swear there’s some subliminal ish in this show that the kids are all into it. I remember the lil man would be all up in that show too. Thank goodness those pen.is looking things aren’t on anymore, or at least to my knowledge I haven’t come across them while channel surfing… what were they.. Boo.bah! Ha. I never watched it, but I thought it was a knockoff of the Tub.bies. She quite likes Barn.ey too. Maybe it has something to do with the catchy songs and what not??? But I swear there’s something subliminal going on.

Big mister is finishing up his belt test today, he’s on to brown belt. WOW! But the poor thing is sick. He had to put off his test b/c he woke up sick the other morning. He’s still sleeping as I type, so hopefully this extra rest will help him.

This next week, starting this Saturday is going to be a doozey! J has dress rehearsal on Saturday. Big show on Sunday and then all week I’ll be doing preps, shopping, running around, ordering, and stressing out for the party that will all culminate in hopefully a fun and exciting party on Saturday!

Stressin’ much?

July 25, 2006 – 9:18 pm

I think I’m stressing over this party b/c it’s haunting my dreams. I had a dream that I forgot about my mom’s birthday *tsk, tsk* How bad would that have been? BAAAAAAD! Her birthday is on the 3rd, the party is on the 5th. So not that I expect myself to forget my own mama’s birthday but I think my conscience is telling me something huh? Slowly but surely the RSVPs are coming in. I feel so ill prepared. But I think once this weekend is done and over with, b/c J has his big show on Sunday… I think I’ll do fine in crunch mode *crosses fingers*.

In other news, it has cooled down here significantly. I know some of you are jealous, but really were not used to this kinda weather this time of year in these here parts. Normally we’re enveloped in fog, so much so that you can’t see 10 feet in front of you.

Better days

July 23, 2006 – 11:31 pm

The weather wasn’t as bad today, and I spent a lot of it with my ‘rents. My mom took a lot of Noe’s crap and even managed to get her to sleep 2x. I spent most of the time there rolling lumpia in preparation for the party. Initially I was going to just order it and have it already cooked, but my mom figured to save some money to just do it ourselves and cook it at the park. Nothing beats freshly cooked lumpia! Good thing the area that we have has power outlets to fire up the deep fryers. So yeah she was everywhere at my ‘rents house and she wasn’t crying, well at least not for me. Which was all okay for me.

T-minus 1 week until the lil man’s hula show. He’s so excited. And I’m so proud of him. Proud that he’s not shy or scared or anything. And I finally got a hold of said friend that needed the tickets and got those out of my hands.

Ran a few errands and even managed some me time. I went out. Not that I wanted to be by myself I just wanted to be out without any kids… and I got that. Called up Mama Toots, hung out at a bookstore, got kicked out of Target (b/c I thought they closed at 10 but they close at 9 and we walked in 5 minutes to 9), and went and had some funnel cake at the funnel cake carnival at Ihop. Good fun.

So today was a better day. I’m not anticipating tomorrow to be a good day though as she has her 1 year WBC and she’s getting 6 shots. Poor thing. So yeah tomorrow might not be such a good day.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was damned hot here, but it seems to be cooling down.

Trying my patience

July 22, 2006 – 8:42 pm

Yeah that went out the window when after 2 hours of failed attempts at figuring out what the hell she wanted, I gave up. I love my daughter to pieces, but sometimes her cuteness gets thrown out the window and the true naughty child in her emerges and sends me into a crumbling mess of tears. She cried for over an hour. She does NOT understand the word NO. And why should she? She’s just a baby right? And I feel bad for getting so frustrated with her, but I don’t believe J to ever have been this difficult, at least not at this age.

The weather isn’t helping the situation either. It’s been hot and today has been the unbearable. Like I dn’t want to do anything. Nothing is cooked b/c that would mean the expenditure of some sort of energy on my part… and after dealing with her and her tantrums and fits, I just don’t have anymore. Ice cream for dinner… sure what every you want. As long as I don’t have to fire up anything.

In other things, I’ve been hounding this one friend for the past 2 weeks over tickets to J’s show. Why did she ONLY get back to me yesterday and she wants them. Okay no biggie. Only thing is ALL money is due TOMORROW. All $300 of it, and well I just don’t have money like that. I can’t front anything for anyone. It’s all just so frustrating. It’s like as if she’s avoiding me b/c I’ve attempted 2 instances where I would go TO HER and get it, and well now I can’t go anywhere, not that I want to, b/c the baby is finally asleep. And well… I’m tired of always going to her. I’m talking ALWAYS. She has no kids, no one to tote around, no one to get ready, no one’s food to worry about but her own. UGH!

And then in other things, I’ve got the party and everything that still needs to be done and ordered on my mind. It’s nothing anyone can help me with. The money issue is the thing that worries me the most. We need a lot of it. Only a handful of people have actually RSVPed and I know that some people will just show up. Frustrating much? Yeah, I hate that. The food issue. I feel like we’re not going to have enough. I’ve still gotta get the adult favors started. The kiddie favors… if you haven’t RSVPed I don’t want your child to be there and me not be prepared with a goodie bag. The jumper needs to be reserved.

Yeah I do sweat the small things. Yeah I stress over things that don’t need to be. That’s just me though. I’m not asking for pity or anything, I’m just venting. And I want to crawl into a hole, even just for a little bit, and not have to deal with anything. NOT A DAMNED THING.

Mommies night out

July 21, 2006 – 11:54 pm

So I spent a majority of the day running errands with my mom in preparation for the upcoming party and then I went to tonight’s baseball game with another Mommy friend.

AT&T Park HOME OF THE GIANTS

Let’s go GIANTS!!!! WEEE!!!! It was so much fun too. We had bleacher seats but never even sat in them. We just stood over by the big Co.ke bottle and people watched  and then we saw some AWESOME fireworks!!!! Too bad there was a lamp post blocking our view. Got hooked up on the tickets and even got hooked up with pimp status parking. YAY for having an uncle who works for SF’s DPT! We were trying to think of how to get down there, and even considered sparing some air and utilizing the free public transportation but we just weren’t sure that it would still be available after the game… so we passed and ended up getting literally front door parking :D .

The weekend after.

July 17, 2006 – 10:21 pm

No more. She is now one *sigh*, no longer a baby actually but more a toddler *sigh*. Not fair.

Lil man at Clos La Chance Winery

Anyhow the weekend was quite eventful. We went to a wedding on Saturday down in San Martin at a winery. Lovely. This was wedding #3 for the summer and sorry to the other couples that have wed, but this one was the shebang of them all. No wonder they were being so secretive. They pulled out all the stops. #4 wedding is in the city and if they want to do something impressive, they’ve got some BIG shoes to fill. Not to say that #2 wedding wasn’t FUN. B/c that wedding was certainly FUN and original. Come on hula hoops. Nuff said. Heh. Oh yeah and my son was in their wedding video too ;) . heh.

The guests

Loved the look of the parasols and everything. No detail was overlooked. We didn’t get to dance the night away though b/c we had to get the kiddoes to bed. Lil man had hula in the morning and it was the lil missy’s BIG DAY! Her 1st Birthday!

So we started off with hula and then a late lunch/ early dinner at my ‘rents followed by cakes…

The Birthday Cheesecake.

Yumm-O!!!! Yes we had the traditional Birthday Cake, that was free actually from Safe.way. WAHOO, a savings of $15. But this year I brought along the Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake and DAMN that thing was delish. I added the fresh strawberries and blueberries, doesn’t it look purty ;) .

Small gifts and the birthday song with the ohana. Nothing big, as the big party will be in August. It’s no wonder I was so tired last night. I started to fall asleep on the couch at 9. YOWZA!

Happy 1st Birthday

July 16, 2006 – 12:01 am

Dear Babygirl,
The day has come. You’re officially 1 year old and I think I’m in denial over the whole thing.

Despite being in labor for 3 days and getting induced you were all worth it to me.

And now 1 year later…

You’re a babbling machine. You can walk, but only when you want to. You’re also a drama queen, when you don’t get your way. You’ve still got only 8 teeth.

You’re losing the baby butter chunk that I love so much. Your appetite is one that any mother can love. You love your fruits, lately it’s blueberries.

Your giggles and smiles can send me into high heaven.

You love your brother to no end. How do I know this? B/c when you haven’t seen him even only for a few hours you’re smiling from ear to ear.

You love to see people your size and get excited when they’re close enough that you can touch them. You don’t exactly know how to be gentle, but I’m always there to show you.

I love it when you growl.

You haven’t been giving me signs that you want to poopy lately but every now and then I can still catch you before you’ve done the deed.

You love to go out. Proof that you will be my sidekick and I will train you to LOVE shopping.

You still sleep with us, and you’re still not sleeping through the night. You need your occasional feeding. But Mommy wants her body back, although everyone tells me that I’ll surely miss the bond.

You’re scheduled for your 1 year WBC, on the 24th so we don’t know how heavy or long you are until then. Unfortunately I can’t promise that you won’t get poked. In fact, I know you will and I’m sorry for that. I never want to see you hurt or crying.

We’re planning a big birthday luau for you and your Kuya this year and we’re hoping that it’ll be something special even though you won’t remember. We’ll have loads of pictures to show you when you get older.

I love you Noe!!!! “Some of the best things in life aren’t planned, they just happen!”

love forever and always, Mommy

Hump Day Happenings

July 12, 2006 – 6:57 pm

Yeah she woke up again, I don’t remember the time. I just know that she did :( *sigh* However she did sleep in and wake up in a good mood :) , so that’s always good.

Ordered N’s birthday cake for Sunday *sigh* Sunday. One. 1. *sigh*

Ordered the lechon for the big bash in August too.

Looked for a neutral colored outfit for Saturday’s wedding… and found nothing. UGH. Feeling fat, bloated, ugly, and tired does not make a happy or successful camper.

But I got some things out of the way, so I feel a wee bit better. Hula again tonight…. tiiiiiiiired and whiny. Oh boy!

Where is my motivation?

July 12, 2006 – 9:31 am

Since the summer has started the only thing that has been accomplished in this household is the set up of the beast and the switcharoo of the living and dining rooms. But that was only to accomodate the beast. We’ve still got excess furniture lying around in there too, and it seems they’re not going anywhere as things keep getting piled atop them.

What else had I hoped to accomplish?

* the switch of the lil man’s room and the junk room
* actually get into my Ladies Literary Book, (help me!!! I’m only on Chapter 2 and I’ve had the book for quite awhile.)
* some sort of garage sale
* set up the lil miss in her own bed
* do something about our kitchen
* get the garage in some sort of order
* gardening, not by choice b/c it is not my forte, but b/c it NEEDS to be done. I was awakened by the neighbor teetering away in his yard, thinking that someone was in ours. But it’s a task that requires professional help due to lots and lost of neglect
*get J to finish 1 of 2 Math workbooks I got him for the summer, not happening seeing as how 5 days of the week he is in daycamp on some sort of field trip, 4 days out of the week I’m shuttling him to and from karate or hula, and on the weekends we’ve had some sort of party or wedding or something… so do you think in HIS free time, what little that he has, he wants to work on Math?
* the keiki party (which is in somewhat motion)

- adult favors still need to done
- all food needs to be ordered
- cakes
- plates, cup, utensils, drinks

SO WHERE’s MY MOTIVATION?

Pet peeve

July 12, 2006 – 1:46 am

Yeah I’m still up, it’s 1:28AM, I think I’m just anticipating another waking session with the lil miss, like we had last night. She was up from 4AM til about 6AM. Tossing and turning. Crying and whining. Slapping and pushing. Yes. That was all HER. She had another session not too long ago, what? Like maybe half an hour ago? And I’m not quite sure what sets her off. Nothing. Nobody moving. No obscene sounds (we sleep with the tv on, yes we have a tv in the bedroom). Nothing. Just pure annoyance. And then the Crying. Whining. Tossing. Turning. Ensues.

I was reading another blog and this person called him/herself a San Franci.scan. First off I know this person was NOT born here. Rather this person moved here 2 years ago. Personally I don’t think s/he has a right to call herself a San Francis.can. That’s just me though. Yeah I’m a b!tch like that. That’s like in college, when I would ask someone where they were from and they would say San Fra.ncisco. Being born (I was born at Child.ren’s Hospi.tal IN THE CITY? Yeah WHAT? Don’t know where that is? B/c it’s not called that anymore. HA!) and raised IN THE CITY, I clearly had to ask “Where?” Thinking I would get, “The Mis.sion District. The S.unset. The Rich.mond. Por.tola Valley. N.oe Valley. The Mar.ina.” And then I would get the long strewn out… “Oh well like Oakl.and.” WHAT the F.uCK? That is not SF??? If you’re not from SF do NOT claim it. Say the Ba.y Ar.ea! SH!!!!!!!!TTTT!

I think the lack of sleep and the late hour is getting to me. Ahahaha… delirium has set in? Okay maybe not. You know what I want right now? A soda. But no. I will resist that urge b/c I can still taste the toothpaste and Sc.ope.

Sunday Happenings.

July 9, 2006 – 11:11 pm

Of course started with a quickie breakfast at home and then 2 hours at J’s hula class.

Then we came home and caught the end of the Wor.ld Cu.p. The mister and I were rooting for opposite teams. I picked It.aly solely on the fact that their guys were cuter  , bad I know… but hey they won. LMAO! I thought they were both good anyhow so how else could I choose. Even before the mister announced he was for France, I said I was rooting for Italy and he said it was b/c he chose France. Ha. Then he figured it out, and remembered how I had been eyeing the captain the other day.

Anyhow after the game, we all took much needed naps. Sleep and naps are grand :D . I had to take a nap though b/c i had an evening out, without the keiki or even the mister. YAY! And it was so much super duper fun.

1 of my old college roomies is going to nursing school in LV and she’s leaving soon, so we had a girls’ night out. #1 roomie chose Circolo in the city. The food was yummay but the company and the talks always outrule that when I’m with my girls! I wish I could hang out with these 2 more often but all our lives are so hectic that when we do get to hang out it’s time definitely well spent!!!!

It’s nice to come home and find the keiki asleep but it sucks to hear that the lil miss cried for over an hour before falling asleep :( . But I need my ME time sometimes!!!!

W.orld Cu.p

July 5, 2006 – 3:26 pm

With the new beauty of a tv all set up and the HD receiver and all that jazz, oh and now the surround sound . We’ve been watching the W.orld Cu.p and boy has it been enjoyable ;) and exciting. Man some of those men are HAWT! Woo *fans self*. So the final game is Sunday and we’ll be planted in front of the telly enjoying it as a family. Not sure who I’m rooting for as of yet… Italy? France?

Anyone else out there watching?

I wanna get J a shirt with the faces… so cute! S said, “Yeah to celebrate and support some of his heritage too.” Ya know with them having Ger.man in them and all.

A windy 4th

July 5, 2006 – 11:10 am

More fireworks

So we headed out to meet the Tootles Family and the Dutchy Family to what might seem to be the “Sunshine Spot” on most days, but it seemed to be more like the Windy Spot yesterday. BBQ, picnicking, and fireworks! YAY! BBQ Chicken, hot dogs, burgers, marinated beef, hot links, pasta salad, Asian chicken salad, fried rice, brownies, cookies, cake, chips, and dips! Woo! Everything YUMMAY :-P !

And today we sit and recover from it all  . The fireworks were a big hit with the lil man. Of course the lil miss could not hold on any longer and fell asleep just as the festivities started and woke up right as they ended. Figures huh? She missed her very first fireworks! Maybe next year.

Lil man started daycamp today. I hope he has fun. They went on a field trip today and he partnered up with his best friend. So should be a fairly quiet day *crosses fingers*

The ABC’s of me

July 4, 2006 – 12:00 am

Got this from the newest mommy on the block

Most admired trait – My kids are so well behaved. Har, har  , *pops collar* My kids have such nice eyelashes, hell I don’t know. I don’t remember the last time something on my own person was admired, as I’ve always got one of the kids attached to me somewhere. Maybe it’s my lack of hair in all the right places?

All cooked out

July 3, 2006 – 6:41 pm

I preboiled the chicken and marinated it for tomorrow.
2 batches of brownies, one with lots and lots o’ nuts and the other has none.
Readied some of the things for Asian Chicken Salad.
and I also managed to make turkey spaghetti for dinner.
I’m pooped! It doesn’t help that the lil miss has been irritable and irritating since last week.
Can’t seem to pinpoint what is bothering her either.
All she wants is to be able to see me.
Or have me hold her.
But then when I hold her, she wants down.
So I put her down.
But she won’t stay down b/c she wants back up.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

Her temperment is SOOOOOOO different from that of her brother!!!
J was always so easy going.
Nothing bothered him much.
He could sit in his ’saucer or packn’play for a good while.
You told him “NO” and he didn’t mess around.
He would go to anyone willingly, even stangers for that matter!
Everything I just mentioned…. is quite the opposite with the lil miss.

Is it a girl thing?

The long weekend

July 2, 2006 – 12:45 pm

Last night we attended wedding #2 of #4 of the summer. It was a family affair and I think the keiki totally had fun. They even danced :D . We got home late though and so we have a bit of a lazy day today. Big mister has to go into work today so we’re left to fend for ourselves. I think we might go to the park, or maybe not. Heh.

Monday I’ll be prepping for Tuesday’s events. We’re meeting up with friends for a good ol’ BBQ, I’ve decided to bring chicken and brownies. Ya know, b/c we’ll be awaiting the festivities and brownies are always a YUM staple to the menu!

And then Wednesday, the lil man starts daycamp. WAHOO!

Hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend.
