OPERATION PT

November 2, 2009 – 4:32 pm

The PT, well that will stand for potty training!

Today I bought a box of diapers at Costco. That’s 180 diapers not counting random diapers we have around the house and in the car and diaper bag. babyM has graduated to size 4. We’ve been having too many leak out the side mishaps with the size 3s so I’ll finish those off first and then graduate to size 4.

I have been steadily prepping her and myself for potty training. If she ever requests to sit on the toilet, I make sure I put her on there. 3 out of 5 times something actually does come out of her. YAY! When she wakes up in the morning, it’s right to the toilet she goes. Before bed, while we’re brushing our teeth, she sits on the toilet. 5 out of the 7 nights of the week she will wake up with a dry diaper. The poop tho… that’s another story. I can never read her “signals”. Lilmiss would grunt and turn colors. Lilman would hide. babyM she just does it, as if it’s nothing. But once she done… she’ll come over and tell you, “I caca.. Change?!” And before even her times would be predictable… now not so much. UGH! So frustrating.

So I’m hoping this will be our last box of diapers that we have to buy. EVAR! As sad as I might be that she is our last baby… I can’t wait to be done with diapers!

OPERATION PT! I am hoping to be done before she turns 2. I have 3.5 months to go. READY! SET! Goooooooooo!

Summer

June 17, 2009 – 7:30 pm

Summer is in full swing over here but we haven’t been up to much of interest to y’all.

I think I need a countdown for NKOTB and then the following day we depart for our Hawaiian Hiatus. Lilman is leaving next week with my mom though, to keep her company and so forth. I am so not ready for the concert or to leave for that matter. Ughz. And I am NOT looking forward to being on the plane with the 2 girls by my lonesome. At least if I had to go to the bathroom I could leave babyM with J. Guess I’ll just have to haul her to the bathroom w me. YUCK. And knowing N, she’ll want to come too. I am in need of a getaway though and as much as getting away seems selfish I really wish the mister could come with, or at least come for a few days and kick his feet up. I think the last time we went away as a family was before lilmiss turned 1 and we went to Disneyl.and.

In about a month, lilmiss turns 4. FOUR! And plans are for her to go to preschool in the fall…. and I am so lagging on getting on the ball with that. Pffft. So many things to do. So many other things to do.

Back to being mom

January 8, 2009 – 3:42 pm

Mama left yesterday *sigh* Only 2 months she’ll be gone and I’m sure they’ll go by fast too.

Yesterday was the first day in a long while that I’ve had to cook dinner for the kidlets. I didn’t really “cook” per se though. Lilman had bball practice and we were running around the majority of the day. So J and I had grilled cheese sammies with a side of cantaloupe. Lilmiss and babyM had Ichiban noodles. Which I totally forgot to look for when I was at Costco last. UGH! Good thing mama gave us her extra stash she had around the house.

Been stocking up on healthy snacks for the kidlets too. We’ve got bananas, strawberries, cantaloupe, and blueberries. If they ask for a snack it’s normally one of those or a cheese stick.

I went grocery shopping today so I could actually cook. We have some leftover mashed taters that ma made and the ground turkey is on sale at Safeway for $2.49 with the coupon. So I decided to make Shepherd’s Pie! We had some other leftover things in the fridge like ham and gravy so I threw those in too along with the frozen veggies. I think it’ll be good. But knowing the kids and their love of rice, they won’t eat it, so I made them something else. I made them tortang again b/c it was such a big hit. I figure if they don’t eat it all I can make some lumpia with it too.

Yeah so dinner is made just needed to turn on the rice and pop the “pie” in the oven.

The whole chickens were on sale too, 79 cents a lb. I picked up one of those too and I’ll have to think of a recipe for that.

My whacked out sleep schedule finally hit me last night. As I was fast asleep before 10PM. I managed to fail at my kidlets 365 and didn’t even get a picture of the lilman. That and I didn’t even post until this morning. FAIL!

13 days til Christmas

December 12, 2008 – 1:54 pm

Photobucket

Holy Mother of GAH!!! 13 days until Christmas. And we have no tree! Still don’t know if we’re getting one. I like to use the excuse that it’s b/c the baby is into EVERYTHING and will just bring the tree down and put everything in her mouth. There’s also another reason why I don’t want to get a tree, I’m the one to put it up and guess what? I’m the one to put it away. Pfft! It’s babyM’s 1st Christmas and all but still. 3 kids don’t exactly allow me to get a lot done unless it’s at night and by that time I just want to veg and bring my brain to further mush with senseless television watching! So that’s the situation with the Christmas decor round these parts.

As for Christmas cards? Yeah! Uhm… well those might just be “Happy New Year” cards. No pictures in any kind of outfits have been taken. No visits to Santa. Nothing. I did however schedule an appointment for next week to have their photos taken. Go me! Outfits are all chosen and put together, all we need is for N’s booger nose to clear up, for M to not catch the booger nose, and for J to not have the “Chandler smile”. And since we’ll be at the mall anyhow, we’ll make an effort to visit Santa too. Hopefully M doesn’t freak out and have one of “those” Santa pictures. Although her siblings NEVER had them. In J’s 1st Christmas Santa pic he’s actually smiling.

Gifts… *sigh* well for the most part the gifts that need to go to other people outside our 5 have been bought. Wrapped is another story. I have 5 more on the list: a 4 month old baby that is bigger in size AND weight than M, a 6 year old who has everything under the moon, and my sister’s 3 kids. As for our kids N is taken care of, by not much but at least we have gifts. S is in charge of J’s gifts and so far as I know there is NOTHING. I am in charge of M’s gifts and there is NOTHING. S I do have something for but nothing for him to get excited for.

So that is our current update. J has 3 days of school next week and 2 of them are half days. WOo hoo! Why they aren’t consecutive half days is beyond me. LAME.

Happy Aloha Friday peeps!

California Mission Project

November 16, 2008 – 12:25 am

If you didn’t know, 4th grade in California Catholic schools is the California Mission Project. I’m not sure what is done in public schools, I know they learn something about the Missions but I don’t think a project is assigned. As mentioned before we were handed down a bunch of good loot from Sabrinasmom. An awesome book that J can use for his report as well as some fences, monks, greenery. Before J had been assigned his Mission, I had hoped that he would get something close so that we could do and visit the Mission. With our luck, he got Mission Santa Clara. Woo hoo. So today we made our way down the peninsula.

The Mission is located on the Santa Clara University campus. What a nice campus at that. Wow. And the weather today was wow too, so it might have added to the wow factor. Lol. Just our luck though, a wedding was taking place right as we got there so there was not a lot of snooping done inside. We walked the outsides and students were sunbathing on the grounds. Lol. The kids were caught off guard when people would plop their belongings down on the grass and start taking off their shirts. The main point in our visit was to get an idea of the construction. And I think we got it. J is supposed to do the construction mostly on his own, so that will be quite a challenge. He has big ideas but can never complete them on his own. We were also lent a book from HotDad and son about the Missions. They did them last year, and that should come in handy as well.

I’m excited and yet fearful at the same time. As always there will be a lot of parental contributions but we need to mask those somehow

Parent Teacher Conference

November 6, 2008 – 2:13 pm

It’s Parent Teacher Conference Week at J’s school. We were scheduled for today @ 1PM. It’s 1:08PM and I sent the BM to the conference. He’s normally working right now, but got the day off b/c he filled in on Monday. I’m always the one to go and honestly there’s nothing that they really tell me that I don’t already know.

And with J’s grades this quarter, there’s nothing much to worry about. Mostly A’s with the exception of a B- in a class he’s never really had other than attending church, Religion. And it’s laziness on his part more than anything! He claims it’s b/c it’s something new to him but really it isn’t.

*****************

In other not so fun news, me and the lilman were hit with something ugly over the weekend. A case of food poisoning. ICK! Not fun! Lilman had basketball tryouts on Sunday too and spilled his cookies all over the court. There’s going to be 3 teams in the 4th grade b/c so many boys want to play. Wondering how hectic our schedule will be once that picks up.

babyM is sprouting 2 more teeth, to make it a totaly of 3. Thankfully she hasn’t been complaining much.

Lilmiss got her 1st official haircut yesterday. Just a trim so her hair can look healthy again. My mom trimmed off about 3 inches.

[eta:] So BM and lilman returned home in record time. Apparently there was nothing to say about J. He’s doing great. He just has a few problems with late work but other than that he’s doing good. Good thing I didn’t go. Lol.

Goooooooo me!

October 7, 2008 – 8:15 pm

Tonight I tried the 10 minute stroganoff recipe and it was a hit with the 2 big kids. Next time though I think I’ll omit the ground beef and just go full on mushrooms! Oh yeah and also add another can of cream of mushroom soup! .

I also had my first go around with making homemade baby food for babyM. My mom bought me this book from Ross today for a whopping $7. When she first came out with the book I was skeptical b/c she claimed to be the originator of mixing veggies in kids’ food. NOT! Some of the recipes seem rather fake too (as if her kids would eat stuff like that), but it gave me some ideas for the kids. The kids eat veggies more or less but sometimes it gets challenging.

I knew how to make the baby food but after reading the book it inspired me even more. I couldn’t very well feed her what the other kids were eating and I had some things in the kitchen. So I busted out my bamboo steamer and steamed her 5 baby carrots, a small sweet potato, and one of my mom’s homegrown apples. It said to puree in a food processor, and we have one but it’s a frickin pain to clean that thing just for that small amount. I just smushed with a fork and portioned out about 2 teaspoons for her to try tonight. I put the rest in the freezer. Well she inhaled that stuff like a champ and may as well have licked the bowl b/c she was looking for lots more!

I can’t wait to try spinach and butternut squash!!!

Non-stop

October 5, 2008 – 10:54 pm

Since J started school, life has been rather non-stop. I like it and yet I don’t. I still never filled out my week-by-week calendar that is supposed to be on the fridge. I did find all my colored pens tho !!! Just need to squeeze in some time to play around with that. And that would probably be about this time at night b/c they’re all asleep and it’s ME time but I don’t wanna.

We had our first Catechism meeting today and it wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated. J did all this extra work for nothing. Pfft! Typical! Next meeting is in December so come then, I won’t be such a spaz on him. It’s his religious teacher’s fault. He told us to do it ALL! Always the overachiever , better safe than sorry right?

Soccer is winding down. They didn’t win this weekend, BUT they didn’t lose either! It was a tie 0 to 0 ! And basketball is about to start up and J is having second thoughts about it . Not a competitive aggressive bone in his body. But doing nothing is not an option. Karate is always in the wings but he still doesn’t seem into it anymore. Lilmiss, however, wants to do everything under the sun. Hula. Yes. Karate. Yes. And I sooooo want her to do it all, but these things are NOT cheap.

It’s heating up here again in these neck of the woods. Indian Summer don’t fail me now!

The holidays are creeping too! I’m rather excited for them b/c of the kids! Last year I was rather bah humbug only b/c my family wasn’t here, mainly my mom. But we’re making her stay for Thanksgiving and Christmas too!!! WOOT!

You can’t win ‘em all

September 14, 2008 – 12:17 am

My poor son’s soccer team lost their game today and secretly I think it’s b/c I wasn’t there. B/c I’m a good luck charm, or maybe one of his sisters is a good luck charm  ? B/c none of us were in attendance. My brother took him and they lost 0-2. Or maybe my brother is bad luck, or his lady is bad luck. Hopefully this will be the only game I will miss this season.

The girlies and I attended a wedding for one of my close friends from high school. She was glowing. She looked lovely! I’m so happy I was able to attend the ceremony at least. I couldn’t do the reception b/c I just wouldn’t have been able to handle the girlies. I’m sure I would have gotten help from the JQ but the baby is so, UGH! Just UGH! Had the reception been super informal and I could have donned some sweats then I would have been all up in there but me dressed up wrangling the 2 girls= hot mess! I’m sad I missed out but that’s the price you pay when you have kids, right?

BM had his first day of training. He left the house feeling nervous and at some point I thought he was going to bail on this new found job b/c he was already feeling overwhelmed with the schedule they’ve given him. 8 hours later and he says it was cool. He says he can’t wait to go back tomorrow. Like what? YAY! I hope he stays as enthusiastic

Mama’s coming to town!

September 8, 2008 – 9:02 pm

Yay! My mom is coming back 2mrw night. The plan was for me and the girls to pick her up. She’s been missing the 2 girlies something fierce, especially the wee one. Thinking about getting this for her  ! Cute eh? My brother calls to tell me that he’s going to get her, so we don’t see her until Wednesday! Phooey!

Back to yummy in the tumminess! I have been forced to cook for the kids and I’ve been making it a point for it to be good for them. Lilmiss is rather hit or miss which makes it difficult. I think she’s lost some weight since returning from the islands. But now that Mama is in town she’ll be gaining her cheeks back again. Not that she’s ever really lost them.

Tomorrow I’ve got cuppies to make again. This time I’m making funfetti with strawberry frosting! I’m kinda excited for those!

Soccer mom

September 5, 2008 – 10:06 pm

Yesterday was J’s 1st practice. It didn’t go well, in my eyes anyhow. J has never played competitive sports. Most of the boys started last year as CYO starts in 3rd grade, J had no clue. I stayed, with the girls, for the entire 2 hour practice. Yeah, that won’t be happening too often. Thankfully babyM fell asleep for a portion of it in the Ergo. Lilmiss didn’t nap all day so you can imagine just how much fun she was *rolls eyes*.

Seemed he was more used to the idea of dodge ball and running AWAY from the ball. Not charging for it. At one point he kicked the ball to the back of the coach’s head. OY! They scrimmaged and why was my son NOT paying attention, looking off in another direction???

We got the snack list and I am the 1st orange mom. I have to bring orange slices for halftime. Why did I have a helluva time finding oranges? Lol. Costco had none. I got ‘em but they’re certainly not the most vibrant shade of orange either. Oh wells. At least I’m not drink/snack mom.

Uniforms were distributed today too. Good thing I had him pull it out of his bag as soon as he exited his class. He wasn’t too happy about my request, but shootz that ish would NOT have fit him. He is one the biggest kids in the class and the biggest one the team. So we had to go to the principal’s office and inquire about it. At first he was a bit hesitant to switch out uniforms b/c he seemed VERY busy, but the baby caught his eye and made time! WOO HOO! J got a better fitting uniform and all is well.

Here’s hoping that the first game goes just as well tomorrow.

School supplies are geared toward GIRLS!

August 26, 2008 – 8:51 am

Yesterday the boy was sent home with two books to cover. I’ve always wanted those stretchable book covers, so off I went in search of them. Why did Tar-jey only have florals and pinks left? I dug through the bin and there happened to be two really ugly brown, orange, and yellow with footballs and helmets on ‘em? UG-LAY! I picked them up anyhow. Then I went to Rite Aid and came across some Pokemon ones by chance and an ugly plain orange one. I figured he would have more books to cover as the days go by.

So I get home and guess what? NONE OF THEM FIT! Ugh! Too small! So if I have time today I’ve gotta return them all, save for the orange b/c the packaging didn’t hold up well when I opened it.

So I had to forage for paper bags. I was hoping to come across some shopping bags from Nordy’s or Old Navy b/c I like the whites, but that would require shopping there and that hasn’t happened in a great while. So good old brown paper bags is what it was.

Back to school supplies… so while I was looking for those book covers I was also looking for a solution for his pencil pouch. Saw a whole bunch at Tar-jey. But… they were all for girls. ALL. OF. THEM. Florals. Pink stripes. Purple dots. WTF? And if it wasn’t those it was High School Musical or Camp Rock. Then the same at Rite Aid with the all pinks, Bratz, and the like. Did all the boys buy out the pencil pouches I doubt it.

I looked around the house for some sort of pouch for him to use, and all of mine are rather girly. *scratches head*

4th Grade.

August 16, 2008 – 9:36 pm

Seriously?!?!

I was sitting on the pot today thinking about how much we spent on the lilman’s uniforms. My mom bought him a bunch of the white standard polos for $4.80 each when we were in Hawaii from Old Navy. We scored on those b/c they were 2/$12 and mom got an additional 20% off. The uniform place wanted $16.75 EACH for stinkin white polos. Sheesh. 3 pairs of grey corduroy pants, 2 button up cardigan sweaters in red (yuck!), and 1 oxford shirt (for mass days). Total= $185. AUWE!!! And we still haven’t bought his shoes or school supplies yet. His shoes have to be ALL black, no colored logos, no hightops.

4th grade. I can’t believe I am the mother of a 4th grader. HOLY SH!T! Seriously? I refuse to believe it. He just turned 9 for goodness sakes.

4th grade I was the star of our volleyball team. I knew nothing of the sport, I just figured “What the heck! all my classmates are signing up too.” And since then I’ve always loved volleyball but only played from 4th to 8th grade. We’re hoping that lilman signs up for soccer and at his own request basketball. CYO here we come.

Lilman is starting a new school again. Catholic school this time around. We know a handful of kids at the school already so his transition shouldn’t be too bad. *crossing fingers* For K-2nd he went to a private school that we absolutely loved. It was nice and small, he got the attention he needed as well as being challenged. Shootz he was learning Spanish, music, PE, History, and Science in Kindergarten! Yes! In addition to the other stuff, it was amazing. But the owners of the school sucked. Majorly. And they raised the tuition, so there was no way we would able to keep him in there and survive. He did 3rd grade in our neighborhood public school and he wasn’t challenged. It seemed he was repeating a lot of the work that he had done in 2nd grade and they refused to advance him b/c of age. Lame. B/c there are always so many budget cuts there weren’t any extra curricular activities or classes. So hopefully he’ll be challenged again this year.

I’m dreading the mandatory service hours though. OY! With 2 little ones at home, I’m kinda limited with the sorts of help I can give them, unless they don’t mind me bringing them along to help. Which I’m sure they’re not. Pfft!

1 more week of summer for all of us. *sigh*

Going home

July 30, 2008 – 12:46 am

The reality of going home is settling in *sigh*. Back to being Mommy again, full time. It’s nice to have an extra pair of hands around with the baby. Sure the BM is home, but he’s not “home, home”. He works most of the time so it’ll be just me. With all 3 kids. Just me. I don’t remember how I functioned before, but I have to get back into that mode. Of course the baby is bigger now and better with the neediness. Remember she’s mobile now *rolls eyes*. I’ll have to empty out the pack and play and corral her in there.

And not only can I corral her in there, but hopefully it can keep her sister out *sigh*. We already knew that she would be the “hard one”. Ya know the child with the mind of her own. The independent one. Well this same child managed to nearly sever the baby’s finger off the other day. With her own mouth. Baby was minding her own business on the floor, crawling, tummy thumping, whatever you want to call it. The lilmiss laid down with her and then sooner than we know it, the baby is SCREAMING. As of late she only cries for 3 reasons: hungry, wet, or tired. Other than that she’s a happy baby. My mom loves that she’s so happy and flashing her gummy smiles. Oh wait, I forgot one more. When she’s hot. She does NOT like to be hot. WHo does really though? So yeah, as I was saying, she was screaming! Couldn’t be consoled and we noticed the lilmiss hiding under the blanket that the sisters were both on top of just moments prior. Checked everything on the baby and she kinda kept holding her finger out. Sure enough a huge bite mark at the thumb joint. Poor thing. It was nearly purple.

The lilmiss is constantly patting her back, really hard, ya know the kind, where you HEAR the thumps! She’s also managed to poke her in the eyes, her reason is that she’s taking out the eye guck. Well in the process of her removing the eye guck, she’s managed to give the baby some sort of yuck-disease that the baby gets the really bad eye guck in the morning. OY! And we’ve been trying to heal/cure her, but somehow the lilmiss always gets to her. Oh and same goes for boogers. She has this thing about picking the baby’s boogers. This poor little baby of mine. She’s going to hate her sister, and soon.

So one of my top priorities when we get home is to get to that pack n’ play and clean it out so the baby can utilize it. WHere the stuff inside is going *shrugs*. I just wish our house weren’t so small and that we didn’t have to much junk amongst the 5 of us.

17 more days…

June 2, 2008 – 9:49 pm

Until we board that plane. Wo0t! I am so excited and at the same time anxious as to how it will be boarding the plane with 3 kids all by my lonesome. Let’s hope they’re nice to me and cooperate and not make me want to take the emergency exit. Oy!

Things to do/eat:
1. Photobucket Leonard’s Malasadas! Yum!

2. Photobucket Shave Ice!!!

3. Eh brah, gotta get da kine Zippy’s!

4. Kim Chee Tako Poke

5. Ahi Shoyu Poke

Are you noticing a trend here??? LMAO

6. Garlic Ahi plate lunch

7. Korean BBQ plate lunch

8. Garlic Chicken

9. Mom’s homemade dinengdeng made with fresh veggies from the Farmer’s Market!

10. A bowl of saimin from Shiro’s!

I know I’m missing some things here but I’m sure you can see what I’ll be doin a lot of while I’m there. There will also be lots of beaching and loafing and driving and shopping and just hanging out.

You’re jealous. I know ;) .

Taking it easy

May 26, 2008 – 2:51 pm

If taking it easy means, staying home, tackling laundry, cooking dinner, tidying up the house, dishes, and going through the babies too small clothes to give back. And let’s not forget trying to do all this with a catnapper who refuses to just sit and enjoy, and who must always be held. Grrrr! I was supposed to head to The Great Mall with Mama Toots but after spending money at H&M Friday and purchasing tickets to Hawaii that has left my wallet rather empty :( . Pfft!

So I’m being domestic today. Which is okay. It needs to be done. Speaking of which there’s a load waiting to be folded and I must do it quickly before the baby realizes that she’s sleeping and not being held.

Homebound

April 30, 2008 – 2:18 pm

B/c my mom is in Las Vegas and I told my brother to shove it today (more about that later), we had nothing pressing to do and we had no where we had to be this morning. Stupid me though I’ve been downloading all these apps on the iPhone and I got stuck playing “Parking Lot” til 2:30AM. And the only reason I probably stopped was b/c the baby needed a feeding.

So of course both girls decided to wake up early. *groans* Thankfully the BM was still here to take the lilmiss potty and entertain the baby even for a second. I stayed as awake as I possibly could with the baby, it’s her normal “awake window” and then an hour and a half later she started to get cranky! Woo hoo ;) , I knew that meant some more sleep. I warned N that we would be sleeping and she stayed on her bed and watched Nick Jr.

I got a teensy bit of sleep as lilmiss jumped on her bed. She found this toy that moos like a cow and over and over again she played with it. Then she would jump and move the foot stool that I have on my side of the bed, mind you we have wood flooring. The phone kept ringing too. Oh yeah and let’s not forget her LOUD calls of “Mommy” or “M….e” or “Hellllooooo?” But I managed to get a little extra sleeps in.

I wanted to vacuum the living room but that didn’t happen. I bathed the baby, dressed both girls, fed both girls, put baby to nap, jumped in shower, dressed myself, made myself lunch, washed the dishes, and now this is where I am. And the baby is still asleep. But I’ve gotta wake her soon b/c we’ve got the boy to pick up and then head over to my mom’s to hear about her trip to LV.

I relish days like this. It’s nice not having to be in a rush to be anywhere. But at the same time it sucks b/c unlike her siblings, babyM is a light sleeper and vacuuming couldn’t be achieved. I suppose those 3 baskets of laundry could’ve been folded though, huh?

Hello Monday

March 24, 2008 – 2:11 pm

Easter’s festivities were plentiful, which is always a nice thing. From the Easter egg hunt last week, photos with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, and happenings with family…. it’s no wonder I was tired this morning and slept in ;) . Thankfully the wee one was cooperating. The middle one, not so much :( . She’s not pleasant when she wakes up cranky. Ewww.

Today I’ve tidied up a bit. Started a load of laundry to soak, dishes, and what not. We’re having kitchen sink fried rice again tonight, I haven’t made that in a bit. Here’s hoping the wee one allows for some hands free time in order to feed everyone else. We’ve got to make a stop at the library to return the borrowed books and pick up some new reads for J. I haven’t read much in a minute.

Dumping photos from the weeks happenings and catching up on my online photo albums. 3 down, 3 more to go. Sheesh.

Thankfully the lilmiss has been cooperating. Normally she would go back to my mom’s tonight, but I think I might just keep her with us. Let’s just hope she’s nice at karate. The last time she went she got me all sweaty and stuff and her panties were all in a bunch. Sheesh.

Holiday cards

December 2, 2007 – 2:42 am

So I’ve been “working” on our cards to send out this year. I like sending out photo cards, b/c I personally like receiving them. 90% of the cards we receive are photo cards anyhow, b/c most of our cards come from homes with other children. I like seeing how these kids have grown over the years. It’s rare that we just get a photo of a couple, but I would welcome that more than just a boxed card with writing.

Over the years I’ve noticed that many of the cards are Costco photo cards, and I’m really trying not to use one of their templates this year, but their prices are sooooooooooooo do-able. Come on 50 cards and envelopes for $15.99. And had we been going to spend the Holidays in the islands, like originally planned, I probably would have chosen one of their island themed cards, but we’re not so I’m not. And I’m not feeling the inspiration to “design” my own this year, doing it that way starts to add up. UGH! So I’ve been shopping online for other places to upload and have them printed. Walgreen’s. Target Photo. Kodakgallery.com, Shutterfly. Tinyprints.com. Vistaprints.com. So many to choose from and the less known ones tend to be prettier but pricier, and although I do like pretty, who knows what other people are going to do with my keikis’ photo when the season is over. I collect mine in an old school photo album.

I played around with vistaprints.com and they seem like the other more reasonably priced option as well as lots of editing options when it comes to text. I’ve just never ordered from them. Have any of you??? Or know anyone who has?

After much mulling over. The photo has been chosen. Now it’s just a matter of getting them printed.

Anyone want to trade?

If I could be sweet….

August 13, 2007 – 9:26 pm

Unfortunately I have my ring tone of Gwen’s “Sweet Escape” in my head right now, hence the title. I can’t think of anything at the moment. I had something last night but blogsome wasn’t being kind to me. Looks to be they were updating to something pretty.

Anyhow a little over a week left here. I can’t believe 2 months is nearly up. It doesn’t seem we’ve been here all that long. We’re currently on hurricane watch. Flossie is on the move south of where we are. Lilman has got his panties in a bunch over the hurricane and I’m not being so nice as to tell him it’s not really going to hit hard where we are. At least I’m hoping it doesn’t! We’re only supposed to expect some rain and showers. The winds have definitely been kicking up though.

Last week we celebrated 2 birthdays, mine and the lilman’s. Very low key for both just dinners with family. Can you believe that J is 8!!!!!! Good Lord! 8!!!!! Dude if that’s not a sign that I’m getting old, then I don’t know what is.

When we get back home it’s back to the grind. No more sitting back and letting someone else cook dinner. BLAH! No more of my mom insisting that she do the laundry. And I have to step up my game and actually become Mommy again. LoL. I don’t know how lilmiss is going to handle it. She’s joined to my mom’s hip and wants nothing to do with me most times. The potty training is certainly coming along. YAY! She still has her moments but if we keep on her enough and just take her despite her not wanting to be taken, everyone is happy!

I’ve got loads of things to bring back home. None for me. None for the big mister. Nothing even to give anyone else. All for the kids and mostly in the form of clothes. Oh well.

Why now?

June 14, 2007 – 10:28 pm

Okay so I leave next week. My “friends” have known about my leaving, since I touched down when I came back last time. Why are the majority of them waiting til now to spend time with me? As if I don’t have enough things to do right now I’ve gotta put some time aside for dinners and brunches that honestly I don’t care to go to. Yeah, I’m a bitch, I already knew that. Didn’t you?

Time for some progress. I brought up the duffel that me and the keiki are sharing to put our clothes in. Yeah I know that we are allowed 2- 50lb parcels each, but my mom is using that with boxes of her stuff. We’re just bringing clothes and shoes and such, and we’ve already all got a few things that we left there from last time. I had been setting aside N’s summer/ new clothes in a pile and today that pile got thrown into the duffel. I still need to sift through my own clothes and those of J. GAH!

I also started a load of laundry. Which by the way just finished the wash cycle and needs to make it into the dryer. 2-3 more loads to go. I’ve also gotta do some sheets and towels before we leave.

Ramblings

May 1, 2007 – 10:23 pm

I’m bored and I feel the need to ramble. I just saw a commercial for the Sonic BLT and Tropical Mango Tea for $2.99. If only we had Sonic here. And damnit if only I had my car. It’s in the stinkin shop right now. POS! We’re hopefuly getting rid of it, yes I’ve only had it for a year but it’s not working out for us, and hopefully we can get something. I’ve got my eye on 2 SUV’s. Let’s hope so. We’re hoping to get rid of my car before me and the keiki leave for the islands for the summer and when we get back.

Busy, not so busy, and busy

November 12, 2006 – 10:36 pm

Despite not really having any plans for a “long” weekend I think I managed to tire myself out.

Friday, we hung out with my mom and did some shopping. Her call. I would have stayed home and saved money if it were me. The keiki made out like bandits, like usual *rolls eyes*. but that’s what grandparents are for, right? Had dinner with the ‘rents and came home and caught up on some dled tv.

Saturday, we lounged for the majority of the morning and headed out down the coast. Which reminds me I’ve got some photos from that day. We just drove down 1 and checked out the sites. I learned that my car, had smooth ride. Nice. Watched some boats and just took in some scenery. Headed back in the area of home and had dinner with the mister’s BFF at Outback. YUM! Big mister had to go to work so me and the keiki came home to watch Jo.hn Tu*cker Mu^st D.ie. Eh, totaly teen CHEESE! Maybe I should run out to Amoeba tomorrow and sell it, seeing as how it comes out on Tuesday. Heh! I ended up falling asleep on the couch while the children wrecked havoc on the living room while watching Sprout. Finally got up and had a horrid headache. BLECH!

Today, got up and took the lil man to hula class. Dropped him off and did a bunch of running around. Grocery shopping and looking for sandals for the lil miss. Found some awesome Reefs for her at Nord’strom Rack for $12.90 plus 35% off. SCORE! Picked up lil man and headed home to cook some lunch. Baked up some brownies and then headed out again with Mama Toots to check out the sales at Nordy’s and Gymbo. She found somethings at both. I had a handle on a dress and sweater at Gymbo, but put ‘em back. Must save money! Dropped MT home and fired up the oven.

I have now found my new favorite and tasty recipe all thanks to justjenn! Cap’n Crunch oven fried chicken…. AWESOME! It was a hit with everyone.

And now we’re here. I’m in bed with laptop, Desperate is on. Keiki are sleeping. Big mister is downstairs working. Despite not having any plans, I think the weekend was rather productive!

Oh yeah and I ran into a family whose child I used to watch at the downtown center. The daddy approached me and asked if I remembered them. I would not have recognized the child had she not been without her daddy. She has grown so much. FREAK, she’s TALKING!!! She’s sooooooo cute. Last time I saw her she was barely sitting up! They told me to come back to the center and sub again. LOL.

Busy, busy

June 20, 2006 – 1:50 pm

… and I hadn’t even planned on it!

Worked a short shift yesterday and came home with a horrible headache :( . Took some Motrin and knocked out on the couch. Woke up and still had it. Tried everything too: caffeine (Pe.psi), chocolate, sleep, food, water, and Mo.trin. And nothing seemed to do the trick… all but time. Fooey.

Today ran a bunch of errands and just anticipating dinner. One of the errands happened to be dropping something by my ‘rents house and my mom offered us some salmon steaks. AHHHHH YEAH!!!! They went to HMB yesterday for my brother’s birthday and came home with some fresh off the boat fish… so we’re having salmon for dinner. I can’t wait! Lil man is busy doing some multiplication worksheets and he read for about a half hour too. We’re off to big mister’s karate class in a bit.

The “renovations” haven’t occured yet. I’m totally dreading the room change. For a lil person, the lil man sure has a lot of JUNK! I swear! In his bed alone he has like 25 stuffed animals in there. PACK RAT, PACK RAT, PACK RAT!!! Someone come and help me purge and reorganize!!!

Lil miss has come down with the snifflies. ICK. Her nose is a little faucet and she hates it when I come in for a swipe.

We’re having some lovely weather right now, so it’s time to go enjoy some of it :D

Made a big mistake

April 10, 2006 – 2:45 pm

Why oh why did I go looking online at Baby Ga.p? There are too many cute Hawaiiana/ Hula Girl things/shirts/pants/skirts! Aiyah!!!! And I’m sure Gymbo will be coming out with a new line. Not to mention there’s some really cute stuff already at Old Na.vy and Tarjey. I’m in trouble!!!!!!

Now that she’s in her big girl seat til she’s about 6, I need to start selling some of her baby gear. I’ve got an infant carseat, stroller, B.jorn, and a handful of other things.

In other news, J is on his Spring Break and the poor guy has been under the weather :( . Starting since yesterday. Colds, chills, sniffles, sleepiness… the flu? Maybe. I worked today too so I made sure to clean myself up before handling the lil miss, thankfully she was sleeping when I got home. Last time I worked, I think that’s how she got sick. Doesn’t help that there were 2 kids sick and 1 with conjunctivits (pink eye)…. so I was certain to wash my hands and not touch them. Heh  !

Busy week ahead of me. Tomorrow we’ve got a date to take photos with the eas.ter bun.ny and lil Toots and maybe have the keiki take their eas.ter photos together. Wednesday, I’ve got work again. Thursday, we’ve got a date with my mom. Friday, I’ve got a lot of running around to do in preparation for the weekends festivities. Saturday we’re triple booked. First we’ve got the eas.ter family party at the karate school, then a get together at the Tootles house for a friends get together, and then we’ve got a birthday party for the Professor’s son *sigh*. Then Sunday is family day with eas.ter festivities.

Time to play with my keiki and get a drink. Catch ya later.

Aloha Friday!!!!

March 24, 2006 – 3:06 pm

I just got off work today. I worked a longer shift, a 4 hour one. I feel so nekkid right now, b/c I have none of the keiki with me. J is at school and lil miss is with my ‘rents. I figured it would just be better to wait it out til J gets off and then just head over there instead of backtrekking.

‘Tis raining out there again. Not too hard right now, which is nice.

Not too busy of a weekend, which is a nice change. Just a first birthday party in the afternoon tomorrow. I’ve got a couple Netflix movies that I need to catch up on.

This weather is making me want to take a nap. But I’ve only got an hour left to myself, so I suppose I should use it wisely, huh?

Have a lovely weekend everyone and if you haven’t already be sure to go wish Maricar CONGRATULATIONS :D !!!!!!

Today is Friday

March 3, 2006 – 11:48 am

It’s only a little past 10:30AM and I am HOME. I’m sad to be home :( , b/c that means I’m not earning some $$$ but at the same time, I’m happy to be home :D b/c I got to feed the baby leisurely this morning and enjoy some time spent with her. I transformed her kick and crawl thing into the crawl through. I nursed her and put her down to nap. I folded the clothes that I got caught up on and I started her laundry too.

I also stopped at Al.ber.tson’s after I dropped off J at school. Big 50 cent and $1 sales going on right now. Bar.rilla pasta 50 cents. Hunts spaghetti sauce 50 cents. Tuna 50 cents. Dan.imals $1. Yogurt 50 cents. Breakfast sausage $1… and so much more. On sale until Tuesday!!! I could only find 1 package of Dan.imals so I’m on a quest to find more.

I’ve been trying to have her be in the pack and play more often, just so she gets used to it. The remainder of the house has NOT been babyproofed. There are small toys everywhere, even lil bits of paper that she manages to find and get into her mouth. So she napped there :) , successfully even. She’s up now and playing in there, kinda nice that she’s not wailing. And there’s enough toys to keep her entertained for even just a few moments. I also hope that she learns to pull herself up in there. Let’s hope it works.

There are supposed big plans for the weekend, but they might fall through  . Not fair! How about you? Do you have any plans?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Coming to a close

February 27, 2006 – 4:00 pm

*sigh* So the cashflow, that is work, will soon be coming to a close. It is supposed to be tomorrow, but she has asked me to work Wednesday and Thursday and then I’ll just be on call. And I was just getting used to my new schedule :( . Not to mention the kids at work were starting to grow on me AND they were actually heeding my calls and listening. The numbers (the kids) are down, so there is no need for an extra teacher. SUCKS!

Rough night #2

February 22, 2006 – 9:10 am

Or is it #3? I don’t know anymore. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to help her. She’s sick beyond belief. She can’t breath through her tiny little nose. She’s coughing and has hoarse breathing every now and then. She has no appetite and she is clearly not herself. Her eyes water for no reason at all and her nose is running like a faucet :( . Poor thing, and what do I blame? WORK! I must’ve brought something home from all the dirty kids, and despite all my efforts to wash hands at every opportunity it still hasn’t worked, b/c she is sick :( . So she’s been waking at every hour. Restless sleep is NOT fun. She cries. and cries. and cries. And not even nursing her seems to help her b/c she unlatches and screams her head off. Nothing can console her. The only way to stop her, for the moment, is to sit her upright and wake her of her restless slumber. She won’t allow me to sit, she won’t allow me to lay down. I tried sleeping as much as I could, but it just didn’t happen. She woke at 5, and I managed to get her back down. She woke again 15 minutes later. S took her and tried to entertain her, but there was no way that I could squeeze in that extra hour. So I got up and showered. Poor J was already awake watching TV, so I plopped her in the saucer and tried to do my thing. Yeah that didn’t last long. I didn’t even get dressed yet *sigh* So I tried rocking her, nursing her, anything and everything. Nothing worked, so she sat in her rocker chair while I dressed and dried my hair, all this before 630AM. She wasn’t sitting for NOTHING, so I told J to get dressed and we headed out the door all BEFORE 645. I figured a drive to pick up some bagels might do the trick. It did momentarily. I got the bagels, got J to school, and now we’re back home and guess who’s crying AGAIN??? And I have yet to eat my bagel. And I have yet to head to work.

I know this is just for the moment and I really shouldn’t be complaining b/c some babies are like this ALL the time *knocks on wood and thanks the Lord that she is NOT one of those babies* but it’s hard to deal with. Lack of sleep, back to work, and everything else on top of that. And then I feel like I’m neglecting J so I treat him to a choco chip bagel for breakfast. The weather was lovely yesterday and I wanted to take him to the park, but I didn’t want the baby to be out too long so I opted for him to play in the front. It seemed to do the trick. Fresh air is always good for him… but still. *sigh*

Can this sicky ickyness go away?? PLEASE!!!
